The first ESCMID Foundation AMS Certificate - Latin America programme will launch in August 2025. This programme is an adaptation of the renowned ESCMID European AMS Certificate and marks a significant milestone as it is the first edition specifically designed for Latin America, made possible through the ESCMID-SLIPE alliance. 

This two-year programme offers tailored modules that address current and emerging topics in the field of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases of Antimicrobial Stewardship. It also aims to foster knowledge-sharing and provide early-career participants with exposure to international clinical settings. The programme modules are available either online or at various onsite locations across Latin America.

Submitting an application for the course does not guarantee a place on the Programme. Enrollment is limited, and all applications will be reviewed by the Core Coordinators as part of a thorough selection process. Due to limited availability, grant recipients will also be selected based on this process.

Registration Fees

The tuition fee for the entire programme, which includes 10 modules (1 Basic module, 5 Advanced modules, and 4 Elective modules), is €2500 for ESCMID members and €2700 for non ESCMID members. Accommodation and travel costs are not included in the fee.

Grants

ESCMID offers four training vouchers, each worth €2500, for four trainees in the 2025-2027 cohort, provided they are ESCMID members — thus covering the full registration fee. The vouchers will be awarded based on a selection process that considers financial need, professional experience, and regional representation, ensuring equal opportunities for all trainees. 

SLIPE provides 15 training vouchers of $1000 USD for trainees who are SLIPE members.
